Flower Girl
This costume was made for Danica in 1998 (here she is with Dan). Since then, it has been used several times and one of the petals started to bend down. Zanya is going to be the flower this year, so I fixed the bending petal. Then I needed to try it on someone to make sure it would stay up. Zanya was asleep but luckily Danica was there...
Thanks Danica! It's fixed! What a lovely flower you are.

Sammy's song
Sammy learned this song somewhere...we're not sure where, but we think it's funny. (BTW, Chandler is videoing. Those are his feet)
Ten on Tuesday
We have a friend that posts every Tuesday. She calls it ten on Tuesday and it is ten random things about that day. I thought this would be fun so here it goes:
1. Zan bit the top off her pacifier today. She was so sad and took it around to show all of us. She even let Hanna try to tape it. (She sure is cute).
2. Thirty year old pinto beans don't can very well.
3. Today we rented Barbie Swan Lake so we can all be ballerinas, or at least Samantha can.
4. Hanna and Danica had their orchestra and choir pictures today. Yesterday Hanna spent hours curling all of Danica's hair in beautiful ringlets. They decided too late that today would have been a better day to be beautiful.

5. Our stake institute class is awesome! I wish we had more support for our little institute nursery.
6. Chandler took his history final exam today for his online class. He is done now, hooray!
7. Hanna needs an expensive calculator to finish her online Geometry class. Dang. At least she will be able to use it even through college. She also tells me that she got 100% on her scripture mastery test today. She can use those skills on her mission =).
8. We have three pumpkins to carve before Friday. Any guesses when we will do that? Maybe we can carve two and have dinner-in -a-pumpkin with the third.
9. Zanya is starting to potty train herself. It will be nice when she finishes with that.
10. Andria and Maranda are practicing hard for their school play, The Aristocats.
Breazy's Baptism
We belong to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. This summer, our niece, Breazy, decided that she wanted to be baptized too. So she took the discussions with our nice missionaries and learned what she needed to learn. Then she was able to be baptized this month, on October 11. She had a lot of family there to support her. She was especially glad that her Mom, Dad and both Grandmas could be there. We are so proud of her!
Here are her missionaries: Elder Olson and Elder Erikson

Homecoming 2008
I know these pictures are a few weeks old, but better late than never. Here is the handsome Chandler on his way to the priesthood session of conference. He and his friends went together so they could pick up their dates right afterwards.
They had dinner served by their mothers at the Denton's home (thanks Jenny, it was so nice!) After the dance, they went to another house for dessert.
Here is Chandler and the lovely Chanda.
These are the nine couples that went together. Notice all the beautiful and modest dresses! What a lot of good kids.

Jannalee's New Toy
I sent Jannalee to Costco to get a new 57 inch LCD TV, and this is what she came home with instead. Hanna and Danica are the real winners, though. Their closet was the only one big enough to store this. Lucky!!

Don't try this at home
This is getting old
In case you haven't heard our sad tale: Over the summer our house was TPd several times in a row. Each time it was the same people (we know this because it is the same way every time). Most times they included shredded paper and last time (last week) they also included grass clippings. It is a huge mess every time and we are sick of it. It takes hours to clean up and then weeks after that to get it all out of the trees and off the rocks. This must be someone that really doesn't like us. So if this is you and we have done something to offend you, just say so, we would rather talk about it. If you know who has been doing this, let us know so we can have them arrested. Ok, I am kidding but we would like to end this once and for all.

Dan's truck bed was also filled with grass clippings.

The Ice Cream Bloke
This is the Ice Cream Bloke. Check out his website. He is very entertaining, and you'll learn some great ice cream recepies. http://www.theicecreambloke.com/

The Ice Cream Bloke is also known as Stephen Christensen. Stephen was one of Dan's mission companions (he was his favorite mission companion, but don't tell him or he'll get a big head). His story, in short, is that he was born and raised in Australia, but now lives in St. Louis, Missouri, and is in the ice cream business.

Poston Orchestra Concert
This is part of Hanna's concert. She is the third one back on the far left, the wall of hair. I told her next time she has to be the chair in the front so we can actually see her. This video doesn't do them justice because they are really a very good orchestra and the concert was great.
New hair do
Ok so I have discovered hair blogs. Blogs from women who are clever and do fun stuff with their girls hair. Luckily, I have girls too. This hair (modeled by the lovely Zanya) is copied from the blog: jackienkassiesdos.blogspot.com. I particularly like this blog because Jackie and Kassie have fine, white hair like my own girls. From that blog, you can jump around to other blogs with other fun hair styles. Try it, you might like it.

Bagels anyone?
My sister, Callie, told me that making bagels was easy so we decided to try it. I had the dough ready and we formed them for the beginning of family night. Then we had a lesson while they baked and ate them when they were done. Callie was right. They weren't difficult and they were delicious. We made them smaller than regular bagels so they would be kid sized. We also made them half wheat so they were even sort of healthy. They are very versitle and can be eaten for breakfast (when you just can't eat a pancake), or lunch (in case you won't touch pb&j). We pre slice them and store them in the freezer. Last week we ate the last one and made another batch.
Note: These would bake fine in the solar oven if you only wanted a dozen or less. Otherwise, my new convection oven bakes 48 at once! Ah the joy.
