Summer Cooking Class with Hanna

This summer Hanna decided to earn some money by doing something she loves. Hanna loves to make fun treats in the kitchen and she likes to work with kids. She is good at both. So for five weeks she taught some fun cooking classes including; pizza, bread, doughnuts, oatmeal treats, and, of course, cupcakes. Each week the class had 5 to 12 students, including 2 of Hanna's sisters and various cousins and neighbors.

We think the class was a success and Hanna is thinking about teaching it again next summer.

Happy Independance Day!

We had a family gathering for the Fourth of July. We swam and had pot luck lunch. It was very fun but we didn't take many pictures. Luckily we did manage to capture our cupcakes. They were fun to make. Later we walked to the greenbelt near our house to watch fireworks from a church down the road.

Locks of Love, Maranda

Once Andria cut all her hair off, Maranda decided to cut hers as well. She donated 11 inches to Locks of Love.
Callie cut it and curled it up. So cute!

Father's Day 2009

Dan is a wonderful father. He sacrifices things that he wants to do in order to spend time with his family. We love him because his priorities keep him at home with us. So Happy Father's Day, Dad, We love you!
Hanna was the sign designer. She is so good at stuff like that and she always gets everyone else to participate as well.

Happy Birthday Sammy Ruthie!

Sam turned 5 in May but we finally had a birthday party in June. There are several Samantha's in our area so we asked Sam if she would like to go by her middle name, Ruth. She said she would like to be Ruthie so we have tried to retrain ourselves, but it isn't easy. Our great friends, the Crandall's, let us borrow their awesome backyard for her party.

We swam in the pool: We played "bubble pie", which was a really fun game that the kids all enjoyed. Oh, except Ruthie, who was having too much fun playing with Peters younger sister.
We played water ballon toss and then "purple bombers" (try to dodge the purple water balloons that are being thrown at you by Ruthie's dad).
Then Sammy Ruthie opened her presents:
And finally, cupcakes. We made flower cupcakes for Ruthie then decided the boys might like bugs instead. Ruthie and her sisters had fun making the dragonflies.

Ruthie has many good friends and they made it a fun party!
