Camping in the White Mountains

We decided to get away from the heat for the fourth of July. What we found out is that you have to go rather far to escape. We ended up traveling 5 hours to Big Lake in the White Mountains. We left early Thursday and returned late Friday because Chandler had to work on Saturday. It was so beautiful and the weather was gorgeous and cool! On Thursday, after lunch, we had quite a storm that blew the tent over and got everything inside it soaking wet. We spent the rest of the night trying to dry out Zan's crib.
So, that night no one slept in the tent because everything was still too wet and we actually all fit into the trailer. We were glad that we had such a large trailer that could fit nine people including a crib. It was pretty cold that night but the kids all slept well. Friday morning we went fishing and hiking and had another thunder storm. We enjoyed playing games in the trailer while it rained outside. This was such a fun vacation, we'll probably do it again sometime!

Sunsplash!

We went to Sunsplash with Schmidt Westergard a few weeks ago. It looks like we pulled out the camera exactly two times: once when we were playing in the splash area with the babies, and once when the big kids were golfing. It was such a fun day with lots of water slides, swimming, wave pool, bumper boats, go carts, arcade games, bingo, prizes, food and ice cream. What a fun day!

Chandler's Bedroom

Well we decided to put the girls all upstairs with the big bathroom and move Chandler downstairs with the small bathroom. This bedroom had been painted pink, blue, green and orange when it was Hanna's and Danica's room. So while Chandler was gone at his priesthood encampment, I painted his room. It is now a lovely tan color and I made the brown curtains for his closet so he didn't have to keep the brightly colored daisies. It was clean for 5 minutes so I took a few pictures. Zan is my room model.

Memorial Day 2008

We (Hanna and I) finally figured out how to make a slide show! We are so proud of ouselves! This was such a fun day at Grunyon Run. Thanks to the Garns and Dunyons for irrigating that day and inviting us over. BTW Hanna is our new photographer which is why she isn't in any of the pictures. There aren't any picts of adults because she said we are old. Nice.

Ballet Recital

Samantha and Maranda both take ballet from the same teacher. Twice a year they do a recital, this was Samantha's first one. When she got there, she started crying and didn't want to dance for everyone. Luckily it didn't start for 30 minutes, enough time for her to settle down and decide to dance.

Dinner at Grunyon Run

Every month we get together for Sunday dinner with all our Proffitt cousins. This was on Sam's birthday and the weather was gorgeous. We ate outside at the Garn/Dunyon house which someone coined Grunyon Run. The food is always great because we all love food. Here are some highlights from that day. Here is Chandler's new trick:

He wanted to run up the side of the house to do his flip but I didn't like that idea. Wendell said he used to do that but he got hurt one time and hasn't done it since. Rebecca and Greg said it was fine and they didn't care if he put a hole in the side of the house, nice. Luckily, Chandler either listened to his mother or he was afraid of breaking his neck. Either one works for me.
